Michael Piette


As Principal, Mike is a 17 year veteran within the real estate industry and created the vision for SensusOne in 2014, which is to be strategically relevant in helping change the way healthcare is delivered.

Prior to real estate, Mike was asked to lead a $210mm insolvent company back to profitability in the contract furniture distribution industry.

Mike has an undergraduate degree with a double major in Finance and Economics and a Masters in Business Administration.

Elliott Summey

Partner / Development Officer

Based in Charleston, SC Elliott has developed a specialization in master planning and entitlement work over the past decade across the southeast. He also has significant experience in the field of construction, primarily in site work having created and owned a transport and site construction business.

Elliott has a bachelors degree from the College of Charleston.

Ben Smith

Partner / Development Officer

Ben Smith brings over 17 years of real estate development, finance, and investment experience to our team.  In his role as Partner/Development Officer with SensusOne, Ben focuses on identifying and procuring new development and investment opportunities as well as overseeing projects from inception through completion.  Utilizing his deep financial background, Ben also takes a lead role in managing SensusOne’s debt and equity relationships.

Prior to joining SensusOne, Ben was a Partner with Plante Moran Real Estate Investment Advisors, a private equity real estate advisory firm located in Southfield, Michigan.  Ben also has experience working for a privately held real estate development company and also with Deloitte Consulting’s real estate advisory practice.  Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan.  Ben is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Michigan and also holds Series 63 and 82 securities licenses.

Shelleen McHale

Development / Leasing Officer

Shelleen was recruited by the SensusOne team because of her diverse background and experience that includes 8+ years in commercial real estate. Building realtionships and creating opportunities along with her 15+ years of sales and marketing, bring a unique insight to our SensusOne projects.

Shelleen holds a BA degree from Ithaca College in Upstate New York. She also holds a certificate in Marketing from ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers.)

Jake Piette

Project Finance Manager

Jake leads our commitment to create a great experience for our financial partners and service partners. Prior to SensusOne, he was a team member in asset-management for a New York private real estate investment firm. He also was with the Penske Automotive Groups Rotational Management Program in Austin, Texas prior to joining SensusOne.

Jake has achieved a bachelors degree in Finance from Michigan State University, and is also looking to pursue an MBA in the near future.

Ty Harvison


Ty worked in the banking industry for five years prior to entering the commercial real estate business. He was a principal in his Louisiana-based commercial real estate firm for ten years before merging with a regional real estate company. Ty has a broad and standing local knowledge of the area’s business environment, leaders, and real real estate market.
